Firth Park

This investment promotes the true community leadership of open space improvements.  It aims to show how long-term change in deprived and racially diverse areas can be stimulated and maintained by local people, delegating decision-making powers to communities.  The pilot will demonstrate how with help, communities can turn an underused public amenity into a hub for social activity, full of opportunity and life.

Work began May 2011.  Click on the links below to view the plans for the site which have been drawn up in partnership with the Friends of Firth Park and other community members.

Work is now complete on site - ready for Christmas 2011.  Here are some photos below.

The official launch will take place in the spring.  By then, all the bulbs that have been planted by the Friends group will be in flower.  The site will look very beautiful.
